The common Utility Building with facilities to accommodate bank, post office, art gallery, consumer store, sales counter etc. is functioning near main gate of the University close to Main Central Road passing by.
The Utility Building showcases the artworks of faculty and students in a well-lit art gallery, in association with Kerala Lalithakala Academy. Well-known artists worldwide are invited to hold workshops and exhibitions; it benefits the academic community of the University as well as the public.
The architecture is used for the performance of traditional Art forms especially Bharathanatyam, Mohiniyattom, Koodiyattom etc. These performing Arts Departments - Dance, Theatre and Music use the special platform to synchronize their performances to its antiquity to novelty.
An innovative best practice initiated by the University - a bird sanctuary within the campus where a clump of trees provides natural shelter to several water birds like the night heron, purple heron, pond heron, chestnut bittern, white breasted water hen, whistling teal, etc. is also a space for academic exchanges.
