To mark October 13, 2023, as International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR), Disaster Management & Mitigation (DMM), in collaboration with Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA), observed the day with the theme 'Our Disaster Management.. A variety of activities were organised in this regard, including a webinar and public lecture, a poster competition for university students, a poster exhibition on the university campus, a street play about different disaster preparedness alerts targeting the general public, a flash mob and an awareness campaign about disaster risk in Kalady bus stand.

Three days of invited talk was organized for the DMM students on the topic 'Disaster and Society' from September 4 to 6, 2023. The session was handled by Mr. Jaisreekumar V, Director of Academics, Totem, who covered various topics with reference to the syllabus of the DMM course.
