RESEARCH IN SSUS
The University invests in its responsibility towards its national development goals and hence attunes its course as well as curricula to meet the challenges of growth at regional as well as national levels. Careful measures are to ensure research as an integral component of the curricula. Research methodology is considered mandatory for all the Postgraduate programmes. The selection of subjects and their social implications are always kept in mind when scholars are guided in their pursuit of research programme. The University has always been in the forefront to identify new avenues of knowledge that are socially relevant. Research programmes in the University are aimed at emphasizing the areas that require special measures for development in academic advancement. Efforts are taken to coordinate research activities and encourage programmes in interdisciplinary research. Special attention is given to promote publication and to give assistance in publishing journals and books.
The University is conducting 25 Ph.D. research programmes including various Sanskrit disciplines and rare subjects associated with Sanskrit like Ayurveda, Vastuvidya, Dance, Theatre Arts, Music, Manuscriptology, Translation studies and Comparative Literature. The University gives academic freedom to research Departments to conduct M. Phil. or Ph.D. programmes.
